Dear reader,
"The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative"
Inspiration is what drives us to be at out most creative self, it allows us to reach into our unconscious mind and let us do things we never could imagine. There are many ways to be inspired, you can have dreams of specific goals and desires. Other people that have got or reached a place you want to go or the type of person they have become. Often it is the story and the motivation why someone goes after their goals is what inspires us. No only the most positive moments can inspire us, also when we are at our lowest or deepest we can be inspired to make a change for the better.
During these years in learning who I am, understanding what I am doing and working on who I want to become I have had many people, events and books that have inspired me to where I am now and where I want to go. Some people have inspired me in a little way to make a small change and others have made me wipe out the drawing board and start over again. In my every day life I have people that inspire me and that make me do what I do. This week I am going to talk about inspiration, who has inspired me and how inspiration has led to where I am or your success.
Inspiration:
We all have the ah-ha moments, when all of a sudden the pieces of the puzzle come together and form one clear piece. That moment when the light bulb goes on. That moment we experience great joy, we feel enthusiastic or great energy to pursue what ever we are working towards. Not every puzzle piece in this puzzle is the same size, shape or color. There are many ways to become inspired, by listening or reading experiences of other people, by walking in nature or sometimes you just find something that has not been done before. Being inspired is being in the moment, maybe you have been thinking or working on something for many years and once the final piece is in you are ready to get started.
For me inspiration has two sides, the learning and experimenting side. In the learning side I read or watch people, books or events that can lead me towards where I want to go in life. This is the side where the thinking happens where I look at the different pieces to see if I can make some kind of connection. The experimenting side is the side where I actually go and do the work. This is where I put the pieces together, this is also where I learn. This is the moment that either you win or you loose. If you loose you go back and see what you have missed.
Inspiring people:
For everyone other people are inspiring to them, whether you are involved in politics, economics, environmental issues or what ever interests you. There are some inspiring people that rewrite history, such as Martin Luther King or Shakespeare. Some inspiring people come from great religions, such as the Dalia Lama or Mother Teresa. In your lifetime you change and so will the people that inspire you the most. Maybe the people that inspire you the most live with you or maybe you have never even seen them.
I have been inspired by many people in my life time so far, the most of those people I have not heard of since I started my journey. These people speak to me just like they have experienced little bits and pieces of what I have experienced or they have become what I aspire to be. Having inspirational people in my life has kept me motivated, their true stories have shown me that it is hard work to get where you want to go. Some people make up nice stories that sell and others tell the truth, I know the truth can hurt but it worth more to hear the honest story.
Inspiration and success:
The thing about inspiring people is that they have achieved what you want to become. So the most easy route is to exactly do what they do. But unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Some have been able to do it but for the most of us it works different. Either the time is different, the country we live in, the conditions are different. There are many reasons that if you mirror someone that you will fail. So the best thing to do is once you get inspired is asking yourself how you can turn it into your story and become the inspiration for others.
That is what I became inspired to do, one of the people that inspire me is Kevin Hart, he is business man and comedian, on a podcast he talked about your book. What do want your book to say once you are finished writing it. That has inspired me to take lessons from the people who succeeded where I want to go but make my own story, do it on my terms, time and energy. At the end of the day it is not someone else's book that I am writing but my own. I follow my story and along the timeline there are people that inspire me to look, think or act in ways that can get me further towards my goal in life.
Like many people that have inspired me my goal is to inspire you. I don't know how I will and can inspire you but by sharing my story and all the puzzle pieces that made me to whom I am today I hope that you get inspired. There are always people who will turn of your light bulb and tell you that it won't work or that the people you are listing to are full of sh*t. Ignore these people, they don't inspire you and they are not inspired to become what they want to be. Just like I mentioned earlier, how do you want your book to be, what is your story!!
Thank you for reading and see you next week.
