Week 35: Motivation!!

 Dear reader,

"A reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way"

Sometimes it is hard to keep up on track. There are many things happening in the world today and things that you are used to today can be different by tomorrow. In a world where every one is trying to keep up with the latest developments, trends, economic predictions and a major US election it can be difficult to fully stay motivated and keep track of your progress.

I like to work, whether I go to my job, I am working on my company, investments or reading I am always trying to keep up. Sometimes you feel like you are in a loop. Because of so much uncertainty you need to make a clear understanding for yourself what what you are going to focus on. Because we have a lot going on and also trying to have a kind of social life sometimes the motivation to keep going looses. This week I am going to take you down the road of motivation, what it means for me and how you can use your motivation to create success.

What is motivation:

Motivation is the desire to act in service of a goal. People can influence their own motivation and success. Motivation is whats gets you up to go to the gym, start a business or find the love of your life. The goal is stated clear and motivation is the time line to reach your success and your goal. Lets say you want to loose weight before the summer, the fact that you want to loose weight is your goal the motivation is that you want to look good for the summer. So you have your time line. Motivation comes in many different ways and for each and everyone our motivation to pursue our desired goal is different.

There are many ways to get motivated, the most two common ways is by yourself or by others. On Youtube you can find millions of videos that will motivate you for the short run. With your favorite celebrity using powerful quotes that get your fired up like a sales team ready to start the day. Motivation can boost your confidence and it can inspire you to create great things. It can set you out to do things that you never have done before and might never thought off.

What motivation means for me:

Motivation for me is very important. The motivation to create something of my own, to influence, inspire and guide people where they need it motivates me to write this blog every week. The desire to have a healthy life and even stronger and fit body motivated me to exercise and eat the right foods. The desire to learn new skills and become even more successful motivates me to read so many books a year. I am being motivated in very many different ways.

The reason I choose to write about motivation this week is that I was lacking it. I was off for 3 days and have hardly done any productive things. I have been working out and cooking for myself every day, but the things I wanted to do didn't happen. I was tired, low on energy and my motivation was far to be found. I have learned that it is okay to feel low on motivation and that it is okay to take a break sometimes. But I do feel that I have wasted time and it could have helped me to reach my desired goals earlier.

Motivation and success:

Highly successful people have a high level in motivation in why they do things. Because of knowing how to use the motivation and keep yourself on track the desired outcome can be far greater and even quicker then you have imagined. I don't think watching 100 motivational videos would make you an entrepreneur. I do believe in the message that they often tend to bring you, you have to do the work. In order to do the work you need to be motivated and have a true desire.

I believe it can look like a circle, starting with the goal in mind, next step comes the true desire to go after the goal. You dream about the goal, you vision yourself with the end goal in mind. You make it clear in your mind what you want. Then the final step is the motivation. This is the part where you make it or break it. Are you willing to do what ever it has to reach the goal or are you looking at a wall and thinking what have I got myself into? If you are highly motivated to reach the goal you will tear down or climb over the wall. Otherwise your desire will fly a way.

There is one trick that can help you if you think you are not going to make it. That is going back to the loop. Maybe you have set your goal or desire to high. Maybe you have not made the clear mental vision so you don't know exactly how it would look like. but by taking a step back and look for the answers would be even more motivating then you can imagine. I hope I gave you a bit more insight into motivation. This is not a motivational blog but more about how you can use it effectively and that it is okay to take a step back once and a while.

Thank you for reading, enjoy your week!!

Week 60: Learn from others!!

Dear reader,  If there is something you want to do, know more about or become better at then often you can look for the right people that have been able to achieve what you want to do. By finding the right people that are able to teach you is far greater than keep making the same mistakes and failing at what you are willing to achieve. Most people that are good in something and are specialized are glad to help you to become better at whatever it is.  During the last few years I have been discovering most of my development myself. But at some moments and with somethings it is good to have someone you can ask for advice or more information. This week I am going to talk about what you can learn from others and what they can learn from you. In taking the steps to reach your success having someone around can have great advantages and maybe you can even help each other in some way or another.  Share the knowledge:   In this day and age it is easy to gain any type of knowle...

Week 12: Investing opportunity of a lifetime!!

Dear reader, These are crazy times, every country is going in lockdown, streets are empty, no airplanes in the sky. The world is changing as we know it. I use this time to educate myself. I have bought several books and I am planning on buying some more in the next weeks. But why is this the investing opportunity of a lifetime? Isn't the stock market falling down every day, aren't the business closed now and everyone is working from home..??? As Warren Buffet says: Attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy when others are fearful. Four opportunities of a lifetime: In our lifetime we will have four or five great business cycles where we can profit from. This means we are able to buy the business that we like so much at a discount from where it was several months ago. Think like you are doing your shopping. You love steaks, this week steak is at $5,- a pound, that's a lot for a steak, now you wait a week and you see that the same steak is sel...

Week 10: The everything bubble!!

Dear reader, The markets have been having some rough weeks. The outbreak of the Coronavirus has spread to over 100 countries and several countries have been in lockdown. The virus has impacted a lot on the world economy and will continue to do so for the rest of the year. Besides the Coronavirus there are more things affecting the global markets and the financial systems. The war on oil has spiked a great rally these last days and will continue to have great effect on different markets and industries. What is the everything bubble? I came about a video from Mike Maloney about a year and a half ago. Mike is big investor in global markets particularly to the world of precious metals such as gold and silver. His video's are of good inspiration and knowledge. He has a very openminded towards the different markets and the research he has done is very great to see things out of different perspectives. The title of his video is the everything bubble and I will leave a link t...
