Week 38: Plant based diet!!

Dear reader,  "A diet consisting mostly or entirely of foods derived of plants" A few weeks ago I talked about The Game Changers, this is a documentary on Netflix about athletes eating a plant based diet and being able to perform greater then other people. I have made major changes in my diet over the last year. I have stopped eating meat all together and I have been taking my alcohol consumption down. I have not had a drink for about five out of the nine months of the year. My plan is to take it down even more. But this week I am going to talk about food I love to challenge myself, not only for this blog but also to see what kind of effect different things have on my life and what I can do to become healthier, stronger and live the longest life possible. One of those challenges is having a plant based month. Yes I am going vegan. It sounds harder then it does but I am going to take you on a week by week journey to see how it changed me. Because I have a city run coming up at...

Week 37: Challenge yourself!!

Dear reader,  For the last two years I have been running in one of the largest city runs in Amsterdam. It is called the Dam tot Dam loop. With this run we run from Amsterdam for 10 nautical miles north towards Zaandam. This is the oldest city run in Amsterdam. The first year I did it, it was raining so much that you could swim the entire distance. Last year it was so hot that half way during the day they canceled the run. This year there are no events in Amsterdam because of the corona virus.  This year a lot of things have gone differently and so will this run. This year they call it the "home" edition. You may run on your own pace, own time and own route. So me and my dad (he has been running this city run for many years) are going to make our own route, with support along the way and a yearly goal to run 10 miles. This week I am going to take you on the journey what I did to prepare, diets and why doing such a run means a lot for my success.  Preparation:   To pr...

Week 36: Hidden secrets of money!!

Dear reader Money: "A medium of exchange, a unit of account, portable, durable, divisible, fungible and a store of value"  Currency: "A medium of exchange, a unit of account, portable, durable, divisible and fungible"  This blog is informational as educational. If you are an investor or you want to be an investor it is important to know about money. Money has a long history with ups and downs. Since the Roman and Egyptian empires money has been used to trade goods and services. Starting out with the oldest form of money, gold and silver. In the centuries after that money has developed, changed and eventually now we have paper money, also known as currency.  I have been inspired by documentaries and the book The Richest Man In Babylon to learn more about money. There is so much more to money than just your credit cards and cash you can get out of the ATM. One of my favorite investors to listen to is Mike Maloney. He has a company named GoldSilver.com.  On Youtube he...

Week 35: Motivation!!

Dear reader,  "A reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way" Sometimes it is hard to keep up on track. There are many things happening in the world today and things that you are used to today can be different by tomorrow. In a world where every one is trying to keep up with the latest developments, trends, economic predictions and a major US election it can be difficult to fully stay motivated and keep track of your progress.    I like to work, whether I go to my job, I am working on my company, investments or reading I am always trying to keep up. Sometimes you feel like you are in a loop. Because of so much uncertainty you need to make a clear understanding for yourself what what you are going to focus on. Because we have a lot going on and also trying to have a kind of social life sometimes the motivation to keep going looses. This week I am going to take you down the road of motivation, what it means for me and how you can use your motivation t...
