Week 33: The Game Changers!!

Dear reader,

Last year in the fall I have watched the documentary The Game Changers. I am always exploring new ways to improve myself and to make sure I can live a healthier, stronger and longer life. What The Game Changers is about is the world of top fitness experts and athletes going vegan. Yes this blog is about food. During the last year I have been experimenting with different diets, food programs and meals to see what works out the best for me.

Since the start of this year I have stopped eating meat on a regular basis. I have occasionally eaten meat but it has not been my main part of the meal. So in this weeks blog I am going to take you on my journey with no meat, eating vegetarian and vegan. I am going to look at my benefits and I am going to see how eating vegetarian and vegan can make you successful.

No meat:

As I mentioned in the introduction I have stopped eating meat in my regular meals. I have gone from eating meat 7 days in the week to about once a month. Together with my fitness coach we have come to the conclusion that it is okay to eat meat once and a while, but it should not be that I don't know what to eat so I just eat meat. Now for over 8 months I have been substituting my meals with vegetarian and vegan solutions to meat.

One of the reasons next to my own health to stop eating meat is watching other people eat tons of meat. I work in a restaurant where pork sate, ribs, steaks and burgers are consumed like crazy. People eat the meat, take two bites of the salads and leave the rest. The part that should give you the most energy and endurance is left out of the meal. What happens then is that they get very big and that would cause health problems at a later age.

What to believe?:

There are different studies, researches and test done that claim that eating meat is good for you. In The Game Changers they talk about how cigarettes where marketed as good and no health problems associated and they do it in the same way for meat. Once they realize that meats do have influence on peoples health then they will look for new products to sell you.

What I believe is our body is just like a car. Without the right fuel, maintenance and miles we are not able to function. Your body needs the meals during the day to gain energy for the next part of the day. So the best way to get that energy is by eating the right kind of foods. Foods that give you energy like vegetables, fruits and not meat. Remember how you feel when you just eat a steak, you are tired and you feel like your full and low on energy. That is not how it should be, you should feel energetic and ready to go again.

Vegetarian and Vegan success:

While doing research you will find that the most successful athletes, artists and even businessman are letting go of meat. Just as I have mentioned before they know that eating the right food at the right time can keep them going. It can make them stronger, better and even richer. When you are able to show up and deliver then the pay out is always great.

For me I have noticed that my sleep has improved, because no meat needs to be digested during the night. Also I had skin problems and most of then have disappeared because of not eating meat any more. On the moments that I do eat meat I realize that my energy levels are down for the next TWO!! days. I work out four or five times a week. I can not have low energy because of meat on those days. Another thing I have realized by not eating meat is that I have the same amount of energy during the days. I can keep going where others are getting tired.

Whenever you are thinking about switching to a vegetarian or vegan diet do some research, start of by eating vegetarian and if you want to make small steps to eating vegan. I often cook ones or twice a week vegan meal. For the month of September I am going completely vegan and see how that goes. You will be able to find the results in an upcoming blog.

Thank you for reading and see you next week!!

Week 60: Learn from others!!

Dear reader,  If there is something you want to do, know more about or become better at then often you can look for the right people that have been able to achieve what you want to do. By finding the right people that are able to teach you is far greater than keep making the same mistakes and failing at what you are willing to achieve. Most people that are good in something and are specialized are glad to help you to become better at whatever it is.  During the last few years I have been discovering most of my development myself. But at some moments and with somethings it is good to have someone you can ask for advice or more information. This week I am going to talk about what you can learn from others and what they can learn from you. In taking the steps to reach your success having someone around can have great advantages and maybe you can even help each other in some way or another.  Share the knowledge:   In this day and age it is easy to gain any type of knowle...

Week 12: Investing opportunity of a lifetime!!

Dear reader, These are crazy times, every country is going in lockdown, streets are empty, no airplanes in the sky. The world is changing as we know it. I use this time to educate myself. I have bought several books and I am planning on buying some more in the next weeks. But why is this the investing opportunity of a lifetime? Isn't the stock market falling down every day, aren't the business closed now and everyone is working from home..??? As Warren Buffet says: Attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy when others are fearful. Four opportunities of a lifetime: In our lifetime we will have four or five great business cycles where we can profit from. This means we are able to buy the business that we like so much at a discount from where it was several months ago. Think like you are doing your shopping. You love steaks, this week steak is at $5,- a pound, that's a lot for a steak, now you wait a week and you see that the same steak is sel...

Week 10: The everything bubble!!

Dear reader, The markets have been having some rough weeks. The outbreak of the Coronavirus has spread to over 100 countries and several countries have been in lockdown. The virus has impacted a lot on the world economy and will continue to do so for the rest of the year. Besides the Coronavirus there are more things affecting the global markets and the financial systems. The war on oil has spiked a great rally these last days and will continue to have great effect on different markets and industries. What is the everything bubble? I came about a video from Mike Maloney about a year and a half ago. Mike is big investor in global markets particularly to the world of precious metals such as gold and silver. His video's are of good inspiration and knowledge. He has a very openminded towards the different markets and the research he has done is very great to see things out of different perspectives. The title of his video is the everything bubble and I will leave a link t...
