Dear reader,
Every once and a while you need to check up if you are on the right track. For companies listed on the stock market they have quarterly earnings reports. I will be having these to. It would be a report about the progress I have been making on my goals, dreams and desires. This report will be detailed about every aspect of my life and I will see what improvements I need to make for the next quarter or for the remainder of the year.
I will divide the report into three parts, goals, habits and finances. The goals I have explained in an earlier blog and I have written them out at the beginning of the year. (see week 1). I am going to check up on them and see how far along I have come. Habits is a subject that I haven't talked about yet but I will go into further detail in a new week but I will show you what habits I am changing and developing. Finance is a expensive part of my life but it the financial future that I am working towards. So I will check up on my assets, net worth and my financial goals.
Goals:
As I showed you in week 1 of life's Journey's blog series I showed you a board with my goals in different areas for the year. These include my personal, financial, health goals and my dreams. So lets take a look at my personal goals, all three goals are getting met. I feel that I have been more productive, I take more direct action and don't let procrastination take over. Reading 20 books this is year has been stunning. I have read already 11 books this year!!!!! That is in just three months half of my goal. I will have reached that goal before the end of the second quarter.
Financial goals are going well, I keep saving and investing. I track my spending but to find the real results we have to wait to the third or last quarter of the year to find out the major impact.
Health goals are stalled a bit, I do hardly drink. Because of the corona virus I can't go the gym or the pool. I don't like working out at home and I try to go for a run every now and than. Food wise I have only eaten meat twice this year and I feed so much better about it. I am doing more and more research about eating vegan and that process will start sometime in the coming months.
Unfortunately are some of my dreams on hold for now because of the confinement during the corona crisis. So going out on dates or traveling is not the option now. I am planning new things with my company and hopefully I can share than with you soon.
Habits:
I haven't made a post about habits yet but that is expected soon. With regards to habits I am learning and teaching myself to let go of some bad habits and to create good habits. I have just started about 10 day's a go with a new way to track my habits so I can't really yet tell the outcome of them yet but I am pleased to say that I do feel better about focusing on five habits at a time that chancing your whole life around and you fall back to square one in a matter of days.
I will explain two out of the five habits that I am adapting. These habits I track for 90 days straight. One of them is make my bed, when I get out of bed I need to make my bed before I do anything else. This is already the first accomplishment of the day. The second one is every evening I meditate for about 10 to 15 minutes. I also track this for 90 days to see the results it has as a habit but also how it influences my overall well being.
Finances:
As I explained in last weeks blog and in some other blogs, finances is very important to me. We have the financial opportunity of a life time and having the right financial education is very use full at this moment when we are in lockdown and not knowing what our future would be like. Like I said in earlier post, I have been preparing financially for this.
Financially I have learned a lot in the past months. From reaching 52 week highs on day in the stock market to turning down to 52 week lows. Unfortunately I have invested in both the highs and the lows. I have learned way more about investing than I ever did. The book 7 secrets to investing like Warren Buffet has been an eye opener to making the greatest investment decision you could ever make. Another power full book secrets of a millionaire mind is just an amazing book on how you can change your financial mindset. Also this book has been great to find out my net worth. (links to both books at the end of the blog.)
Overall score: 7.3
Goals: 7.5, haven't been able to focus on all the goals yet but I am making great progress. Keep up the good work.
Habits: 6.5, haven't been using these yet for the full quarter so the judging isn't fair yet, but I am pleased about the progress I am making with my habits.
Finances: 8, I have learned a lot in the last few months, haven't let my emotions take the best out of my decision making or controlling during a down turn. I have seen the upside potential and I invested greatly in the upside potential.
Please check up on yourself once and a while to see how well you are doing and if you are not loosing track. Create what is for yourself the best way to do so and see where you need improvement. If you are able to do this than you can control your life a bit better and the future would be amazing.
Thank you very much for reading, stay positive and healthy during these times. I hope it all will be over soon.
See you next week.
